Summary of what I did today: shopped!
It was nice to get out and forget about school and organizing, if only for a while.
I went around to my usual favourite stores, which was fun but I wish I could find some other places that have nice stuff (not necessarily just clothes, I’m also a big fan of home decor things..damn IKEA being a ferry ride away!
), maybe I’ll plug in my postal code to this Store Locator and see what I can find. Uh, except can anyone figure this interface out?
I also made an appointment to get my hair cut tomorrow afternoon. It’s gotten pretty long as of recently, almost to the middle of my back, so I’d say I’m due! It’s not so much the length of my hair as it is the thickness. My hair is very thick which makes it all the more misbehaving. So I’m going to ask the stylist to thin it out quite a bit. I’ll also get a bit of length taken off, but I’m not brave enough to get a pixie cut or anything.
In addition to that, tomorrow I’m taking a math exam in the morning. I’m usually able to drop in anytime during school hours, but since I could only book my hair appointment with who I wanted tomorrow, I’ll have to get the exam out of the way before. Which means early morning, not so wonderful but hopefully caffeine will help me function! It’ll be nice to have yet anything thing done and out of the way.
So..that concludes my rambles. Stay tuned for a product review soon and Fashion Find Friday..on Friday!
It’s been a while since I’ve been this tired. Today (moving day) went pretty smoothly all together but that doesn’t mean it was any less exhausting! Now comes the annoying part of unpacking and finding new homes for stuff, urgh.
I really like the view I have from here. It’s quite high up and the view is amazing! I can see out to the ocean and on clear days mountains in Washington are visible. It’s nice to look out in the middle of working and see such a nice view.
Well, I have to run again and try to sort of the endless stuff in boxes into some kind of order. Then, I am going to get a beautiful, full night of sleep then back to the grind (school starts).
Happy September!
I’m a bit of a sucker for the movies of Hollywood’s golden age. There’s something amazing about how they can be both wonderfully cheesy and brilliant at the same time.
I have lots of favourites, a few being It’s a Wonderful life, Gone with the Wind and Casablanca. All fantastic movies. I doubt we’ll ever see anything like that time again, so watching these movies and getting a blast from the past is fun.
Some of the most memorable movie quotes of all time came from this era, and they’re definitely more romantic then what is heard today in terms of pick up lines. Would the quote from Casablanca “I was informed that you were the most beautiful woman ever to visit Casablanca. That was a gross understatement.” be a good pickup line today, if Casablanca was replaced with [appropriate location]? I think it could work, sheer flattery is always nice!
You could always try it on the next person you see, or if you want to test out it’s effectiveness first.. play the Ultimate Flirting Championship, put on by Extreme Style by VO5 here. Get flirting!
I have no idea how it got to be this late, but here I am, taking a break amongst the chaos. Today we moved some shit over so at least a dent has been put in the amount we have to move come September 1st.
I can’t say these last few days are fun but that’s just the moving process. Once we’re done (for September.. don’t even wanna think of moving east!) I plan to do a whole bunch of nothing. Sounds pretty good.
In other news, school starts up once again on the 2nd. If ya’ll just started reading, I’m homeschooled. Not so much homeschooled as doing distance education (when you travel between opposite ends of the country, traditional school is kinda hard.) There are a lot of myths about homeschooling that I won’t even try to clear up, because people will believe what they want, but to sum it up: No, I’m not a religious nutbar, Yes, I actually do do work and No, it is not any easier then convential highschool, I would actually say it is harder because I am required to complete the course completely no matter the time constraints. Anyway */rant* needless to say I’ll have to get my ass in gear and devote a lot of time to that.
It’s just after midnight so I think I’ll turn in now in preparation for the crazy schedule of the next 2 days.
Believe it or not, it’s almost time to go back to school. How does a new laptop sound to make the transition a little easier? Good, right? That’s what I thought. Right now you could win one of 30 laptops with the Charter Laptop-a-Day Giveaway that Charter Communications is holding. FYI, Charter is a provider of cable TV, High speed internet and phone service. Anyone who orders one of Charter’s services via their website is automatically entered!
The laptop is a full featured with all the bells and whistles. Here’s a few of the technical specifications:
Additionally, ALL online orders placed right now will receive a free Shell gas card. Pretty useful with the high price of gas! The first laptop winner (remember they are giving away 30!) will be announced on September 1st. The official rules of this sweepstakes can be found here. Good luck!
