Technical difficultiesPosted on September 30th, 2008 @ 11:59 am
Sorry for the absence. I have a valid reason this time though! A few days ago my only computer (a laptop) decided it didn’t want to connect to the Internet, despite nothing being wrong with the connection itself. It’s apparently fixed and I will hopefully be getting it back today. In the meantime, I dragged out my old desktop but I can’t do much on it as everything is on my laptop.
Anyway, that’s what has been going on. Regular posting will resume asap!

Breitling navitimer watchPosted on September 25th, 2008 @ 8:34 pm
I’ve never been much of a watch person, only owning a few cheap watches when I was much younger and learning to tell time, hah. Though I am one of those people who is constantly checking the time (good or bad habit?) it’s always on my cell phone or alternatively, my iPod.
Anyway, just because I don’t own a watch right now, doesn’t mean I can’t drool over some really nice ones. When I was in Seattle a few years ago, I came across tons of nice watches that just aren’t as common in Canada. Fossil, for example, makes some really nice watches but not too pricey.
One brand of watch I hadn’t previously heard of are Breitling watches. They are without a doubt very nice watches with all of the bells and whistles (Just check out this breitling navitimer watch to see what I mean!). Thewatchery.com carries Breitling watches, along with other swanky watch brands. The huge selection of watches is quite impressive. Predictably, I’m drawn to more blingy watches.
One of my favourite on the site is probably this one:

In watches, and jewelry in general, I’m drawn more to silver rather than copper (yuck) or gold. I think silver is supposed to compliment my skin tone, or is it gold? I can never remember. But I love silver more, either way!

Professional web designPosted on September 24th, 2008 @ 12:50 pm
I’ve toiled with web design for a few years now. This was only for my own websites of course, and a few years later, I do have a good understanding of HTML and CSS. Though to be fair, they can be easily learned with a bit of practice and reference. Anyway, the more advanced stuff used to make really amazing websites like PHP and Flash? Forget it. I know absolutely squat about them.
Needless to say, my websites don’t go beyond basic and simple ones. Which is fine in most cases, since my blog is only a small personal one. If my website was an eCommerce or business one, you’d better believe I would use professional web design services. Good design and functionality in websites is critical, and as I’ve experienced a horribly designed, confusing website many a time, I know it leads visitors clicking that little red ‘X’ button in disgust.
Network Solutions offers web design services and packages to those who don’t want to design and code an entire website by themselves, or wants one that is sure to be professional. To see what they can do for you, check out their website.

Technically challengedPosted on September 23rd, 2008 @ 9:36 pm
Forgive my ignorance, really, but what is an HDMI switch? I know it has something to do with high definition of course, HD being a big thing in recent years. Don’t shake your heads at me quite yet, I still have a very small, modest television and I hardly watch it anyway, so I’m not really that knowledgeable about anything high definition, though the tech specifications of cameras? I know probably a little too much. I’d love to research exactly what these are, but my course load has been very heavy recently, and time is very limited.
Anyway, thanks in advance for any enlightenment.
